How Should I Prepare My Subaru for Winter?

It's no secret that winters in Shingle Springs are still incredibly pleasant, but that doesn't mean you don't need to do anything to get your Subaru ready. Since we get most of our rain in the winter, it's important that you make sure your tires have enough tread to handle rainy streets. Make sure that the windshield wipers are also in good condition, and that your headlights can illuminate your way clearly.

How Else Can I Get My Subaru Ready?
Of course, just because the Mother Lode has year-round sunshine doesn't mean other places do--and if you're taking a trip to see family in another state or to hit the ski slopes, there are some things to take into consideration. Winter tires, for example, might benefit you if you plan on spending lots of time in a snowy region.
If your travels take you to somewhere with more wintry winters, it's also recommended that you put together a winter survival kit. This kit should have emergency supplies for cold and snowy weather. Pack spare warm clothes and shoes, as well as blankets--these can be greatly helpful if your current clothes get wet. Tire chains, a small shovel, and road salt are good if you're stuck in a small snow drift. And in case you get stuck for a while, you should have water and non-perishable food on hand while you wait for help.
