Of course, just because the Mother Lode has year-round sunshine doesn't mean other places do--and if you're taking a trip to see family in another state or to hit the ski slopes, there are some things to take into consideration. Winter tires, for example, might benefit you if you plan on spending lots of time in a snowy region.
If your travels take you to somewhere with more wintry winters, it's also recommended that you put together a winter survival kit. This kit should have emergency supplies for cold and snowy weather.
