What Is Covered by my Subaru Warranty? What Isn't?

Incidents outside of Subaru's control cannot be covered by your warranty. These include damage sustained in a traffic accident, or during improper use of your vehicle, like street racing. However, if your vehicle exhibits a maintenance issue through no fault of your own, and your vehicle is still under warranty and has been properly cared for, Subaru covers the entire repair, including parts and labor, at absolutely no cost to you!

If you are in need of warranty service, that service can only be performed by an authorized Subaru dealer. However, if you find yourself in need of an emergency repair and you're far from the nearest Subaru dealership, there's a procedure in place for you:

Have the repair performed by the nearest mechanic. Keep meticulous records of the service performed, including work orders, receipts and even keep the packaging for parts installed if you can. Then, if you bring your Subaru back to an authorized dealer within 15 days of the repair, Subaru will inspect the quality of your emergency repair, perform any additional work necessary to restore the vehicle to the high Subaru workmanship standard and reimburse you up to $500 for the cost of your emergency repair. Even if something goes wrong with your under-warranty Subaru far from home, Subaru has got you covered!
