Why is it important to change the oil in your Subaru?

How often should you change your oil?

Under normal driving conditions, you should change your oil every 5,000 miles if you have a newer Subaru that requires synthetic oil. You can find the exact interval that's required for your Subaru in the owner's manual. How, where, and how often you drive can all affect the required frequency of your oil changes. If you are in doubt, speak with one of our expert technicians in our Service Department and they will inform you of the best interval for your driving habits. If you're driving an older Subaru model that uses conventional oil, you should aim for an oil change every 3,000 miles.
