2021 Subaru Impreza 5-Door vs Subaru Crosstrek: Size & Utility

They say imitation is the most sincerest form of flattery and there's no better example than these two vehicles. The Crosstrek evolved from the Impreza 5-door so it's no surprise that both vehicles boast the same amount of generous passenger volume and cargo space. It's in the exterior design that you'll notice some significant differences.

The biggest distinction is ground clearance. The Impreza 5-door has a respectable 5.1 inches of clearance but the Crosstrek has a much taller 8.7 inches, making it better-equipped for more rugged get-aways. The Impreza offers standard steel wheels with covers and available raised roof rails. Sturdy aluminum-alloy wheels and raised roof rails come standard on the Crosstrek giving it a more sporty appearance.

2021 Subaru Impreza 5-Door vs Subaru Crosstrek: Features & Technology

Both the 2021 Impreza 5-door and the 2021 Crosstrek come standard with multi-reflector halogen headlights, however on the higher trim levels of both vehicles, you'll get LED steering responsive headlights. Fog lights are also available as trim level upgrades on both cars.

Heated front seats come standard on the higher trim levels of the 2021 Impreza 5-door as well as a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter handle. The 2021 Crosstrek offers heated front seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel on all models but the entry-level. The leather-wrapped shifter handle is only available on the Crosstrek Premium trim level.

When it comes to interior technology, both vehicles are remarkably similar. Both come standard with a 6.5-inch STARLINK® multi-function display and a 4-speaker audio system. The upper trim levels on both cars have larger 8-inch display and 6-speaker audio systems with the option of an available Harman Kardon® premium 8-speaker audio system.
